Testimonials & Quotes
On behalf of the 2008 Fork it
Over Committee, I wish to extend
my thanks and gratitude for your
support at this year's event.
We received many positive
comments about your key role in
our event. Your expertise
and professionalism truly makes
the difference for us in terms
of fundraising totals and the
entertainment value to our
guests. You are a classy
guy and we are very grateful to
have you as a partner at Fort it
Over and we look forward to your
support in 2009. Our
partner, Sorrentino's Compassion
House, will put the funds raised
to great use, and our Rotary
Club has many worthy projects,
including Brightview Elementary
School. Our plans are
already underway for our 2009
Fork it Over event, which will
occur in latter January 2009,
and we want to book you for next
year (tentative date: January
20, 2009). Sincerely,
- Mike Mack

I would like to personally
thank you for contributing
to our successful Gala Dinner.
We appreciate the effort you put
forth in entertaining our guests
and bringing our auction to a
successful completion.
Margaret Trudeau shared with me,
that you were the best
MC/Auctioneer she had ever seen.
She laughed all the way to the
airport thinking of you telling
the guests to take their beads
to the jewelry store and say
"Margaret Trudeau told me to
bring these here and you would
exchange them for real jewelry".
Thanks again Danny!
- Gail A. Taylor, Community
Mental Health Foundation
Our warmest thanks for the
wonderful job you did as
Master of Ceremonies and
Auctioneer for our Autism
Society Gala. Danny you made
such a difference in the funds
we raised! Your engaging
personality and humor bumped the
"fun quotient" of the evening
way, way up!!!! This was evident
in all of the positive feedback
I received from our guests. You
were a real pleasure to work
with.
- Anita Ferri, Gala Chair 2007,
Autism Society Edmonton Chapter
"It's the best we have
ever done", said Trudy
Cormier, co-chair of the 2007
Festival of Trees. $340,000 of
the $1 million dollars raised
came in a single evening, during
the event's gala and live
auction. The Kelowna estate
package offered brought $52,500
before auctioneer and emcee
Danny Hooper declared it sold.
As it happens, the package was
so popular it was sold again to
another bidder for the same
price.
A weekend trip for 12 to Las
Vegas via private jet, with
deluxe accommodation at the
Mandalay Bay Resort. Going
once....going twice...sold!
A five-night Vancouver Island
cruise for eight aboard a 31
meter luxury yacht. Going

A weekend jet-away to a Kelowna

"It is with great pride in our
accomplishments at the 9th
Annual Alberta Diabetes
Foundation Gala and Auction that
I express thanks on behalf of
the ADF Board of Directors and
the Gala Committee.
This event could never have been
the fantastic evening that it
was without your participation
as auctioneer. This year we
raised in excess of $400,000 NET
for the Alberta Diabetes
Foundation, which represents a
167% growth over last year.
PHENOMINAL!!!!!! "
- Harold M. Kinston, FCA
Chairman of the Board, ADF
"Just wanted to drop you a note
and say thank you for the
fantastic job at the Canadian
Hockey Foundation Celebrity
Auction held in Calgary. The
fundraising event exceeded our
expectation with the live
auction portion doubling what we
have been able to do at prior
years events in Toronto!!!
It was a pleasure to work with
Danny and Danny Hooper
Productions and thanks again for
making our event successful!"
- Bill Ackerman, Canadian Hockey

"I would like to extend to you
my sincerest thanks as your
outstanding presence and timing
as emcee and your outstanding
band made our awards banquet the
best ever!
The unsolicited feedback that I
have received from attendees has
been tremendous and mirrors my
comments.
From the preparation and
logistical planning with Ms.
Ison through the banquet itself,
I would like to, again, commend
you for your professionalism and
attention to detail that made
the event such an unprecedented
success."
- Derek A. Hibbard, Manager,

"FROM THE HEART... cannot think
of any other fundraiser in this
town that can raise $600,000
from 200 attendees... the second
annual “Patron Hearts Weekend”
in support of the Mazankowski
Heart Institute raised just over
$600,000 with the help of
auctioneer Danny Hooper with no
auction package selling for less
than $20,000."
- From the column of Graham
Hicks The Edmonton Sun

I have never failed to be
impressed by Danny's ability to
masterfully command the
audience's full attention with
his charming personality, quick
wit, and off-the-cuff humor.
Danny is one of that rare
breed-a born entertainer who
instantly engages the audience
and quickly creates an
excitement and sense of fun in
the room. He is a consummate
professional, and I have never
seen him at a loss for words!
Danny continues to amaze me with
his ability to achieve
outstanding bids at our auction.
We have used his services four
times in a row now for this
event. I cannot imagine holding
an event without benefiting from
his magical abilities!
- Alex Graham, President and
CEO, The Calgary Zoo
I haven't laughed that hard in a
long time, but the real evidence
comes from the overwhelming
response we have received from
those in attendance. We have had
nothing but positive feedback.
- Mitch Krecsy, General Manager,
Eckville Credit Union
Danny Hooper was our Master of
Ceremonies and auctioneer and
what a master he truly was,
raising $121,000 through the
live auction! His cheerful
banter and irreverent wit also
had the elegant crowd falling
off their chairs with laughter.
- Dave Parker, Chairman, Kid's
Kottage Gala Ball and Auction
"The Black Tie Bingo, the
fund-raiser for injured rodeo
competitors that always kicks
off the hoopla round next week's
Canadian Finals Rodeo, has its
own version of Let's Make A
Deal. In the Mystery Hat
Auction, three bidders put up
mega-bucks for the right to pick
one of three hats. Under each
hat is one prize: A biggie (like
a getaway trip to Boston) a
goodie prize (dinner for 10 at
the Sheraton Grande) and a boobie, a "Burdizzo Castrapor" -
oversized pliers cowboys use so
baby bulls won't have to be big
bullies. Sun General Manager,
David Black paid $2,500 (all
going to the Cowboys' Benevolent
Foundation) and once again,
picked the hat with the scrotum
squeezer underneath. "I haven't
used 'em on anybody yet," he
adds. "But I'd love to catch
(Black Tie Bingo MC) Danny
Hooper!"
- Graham Hicks, Edmonton Sun
More lines than AT and T and
$44,000: He is perhaps, the most
entertaining auctioneer around.
And Danny Hooper was in fine
form Thursday night when he
described someone's anonymous
donation of a leather case to
the silent auction, it sounded
like: "Room service found it.
Apparently one of the guests
forgot it so we have to
auction." About 425 people
enjoyed a great roast beef
dinner at the Fantasyland.

Garlic Stomp raises
$350,000 for charity:
Quick-thinking Danny Hooper
raised $120,000 for one auction
item Friday to help net about
$350,000 at Sorrentino's 16th
annual Garlic Stomp. On
the block was the chance to name
one of the rooms in the Lois
Hold Hospital for Women, opening
on the Royal Alexandra Hospital
campus in 2008. The
bidding went to $60,000 and
Hooper doubled it by suggesting
the competing bidders each name
a room. "He never misses a
trick", said Stella Rago, who
with husband Carmelo, owns
Sorrentino's restaurants.
